This is the improved, inside lubricated version of the original .32 Long Colt discussed below. The case is longer than the original to enclose the inside lubricated bullet, but the overall length is basically the same as the original version. With the phasing out of outside lubricated bullets this version was adopted around 1894/95. It remained in production for several years, but its popularity faded over time with the introduction of the more powerful 32 S&W Long in 1896. (Erlmeier, Brandt Ref. 326)
