Federal launched the Super Carry in 2002 as an alternative competitor in the self-defence market. Ballistically is superior to the 380 Auto and almost on par with the 9mm Luger. It was not based on any existing cartridge but was built from scratch. Early on it did receive some good reviews on it having the potential to be a game changer, by having a sub-compact pistol with more magazine capacity than the 9mm Luger without sacrificing stopping power, however the cost factor might not make everybody change their existing 9mm’s just yet.
