The 30 Reece was developed by Carson Reece for small game and varmint hunting. It is based on the .357 Magnum case that was necked down and shortened to 1.165″. As with the 45 ACP and 44 Magnum cases, there were many wildcatters at different times experimenting with existing cases. The 357 Magnum/38 Special is no exception, although Hornady did a small run on behalf of Mr Reece.
