These are half-scale cartridge versions of the 7×57 Mauser that were manufactured in the early 1930’s to present to ranking members of the Mexican military, in this case to General Joaquin Amaro: Mexican Secretary of National Defence from 1924-1931. Apparently, these are loaded rounds, and the rifle is fully functional. (Dixon Ref. W106).
